Next week in Italy with the imminent opening of schools, several doubts and uncertainties have not yet been clarified as far as prevention and safety measures due to the Covid-19 emergency.

For example, the president of the National Association of Headmasters Mr. Antonello Giannelli expressed more than one doubt about the delivery of the single-seater benches, the only ones able to guarantee the distancing, defining that the situation “is seriously delayed”. Mr. Giannelli continues underlining that “two other important criticalities are those of the classrooms and the full allocation of staff, or rather of the teachers to be hired to ensure the service”. The attention is high, as shown by the case in Germany, where the school period is different than in Italy and last August, at the reopening, there were cases of contagion.

Moreover, throughout Europe, there are different procedures to limit problems at school: in France the mask is required (only for adults) even during classes, in the UK the decision is left to the individual school principals while in Spain they are moving towards procedures that provide for staggered entries.

In Italy, the actions to fight the virus in the most effective way will be “the free supply of 11 million masks every day to all schools and about 170 thousand litres of sanitizing gel per week”, declares the Italian Commissioner for the Covid-19 emergency.
